If you have a Public Health Emergency to report after 4:30 p.m. EST or all day Saturday and Sunday, please call (502) 955-7837. Messages will be handled promptly, depending upon the public health emergency.
Reportable Disease Notifications
Physicians, hospitals, and laboratories are required by 902 KAR 2:020 to report communicable diseases to the Epidemiology unit of the health department. Qualified health department staff investigate the cases and report the communicable diseases to the Kentucky Department of Public Health, which reports to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Environmental Health Complaints
Please call our Environmental Health Department at 502-955-7867 if you wish to report problems at a restaurant or food market, rodent problems at a property, sewage or wastewater discharge at a property, no water at a property, lead exposure hazards, illegal food vendors or problems at a body art facility.
Animal Bites/Rabies Post-Exposure Prophylaxis
Animal bites to humans are reported to our Environmental Health Department. Our Epidemiology/Environmental Department does Rabies Post-Exposure Prophylaxis follow-up. You may report the bite to us by calling 502-955-7867. You can download the form here.
