Contact the Environmental Department for concerns involving:

Visible sewage on or around a property

Rodents, mosquitoes, flies, or other pests being attracted by a neighboring property or business

Standing water or containers collecting water

Restaurant employees not following proper hygiene procedures

Concerns involving a daycare, restaurant, hotel, motel, mobile home neighborhood, public pool, or body art facility
Some concerns may need to be directed to another agency or organization. The examples below are not an all-inclusive list, but are provided to help identify the appropriate contact for some common concerns:

Water quality or water service problems: Contact your water company.

Rental property HVAC, electrical, mold, pest, property damage, or similar issues: Contact your landlord or leasing office.

Chemical odors or improper waste disposal by a factory or business: Contact the Kentucky Department of Environmental Protection.

Smoke from a neighbor's fire pit, wood stove, or smoker: Contact your HOA or local code enforcement office.

Loose or roaming pets: Contact Bullitt County Animal Control.

Fuel spills: Contact the appropriate fire department's non-emergency number.

Junk or abandoned/old vehicles on a property: Contact local code enforcement.

Illegal dumping: Contact the Kentucky Division of Waste Management.
If your concern is not listed above, you may still need to contact another local, county, or state agency for assistance.

To report a public health emergency after 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time, Saturday or Sunday, call

Physicians, hospitals, and laboratories are required by 902 KAR 2:020 to report certain communicable diseases to the Health Department’s Epidemiology Unit.
Qualified Health Department staff investigate reported cases and submit required information to the Kentucky Department for Public Health, which then reports appropriate data to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
